Data Communications Gateway (DCG): The DCG is an intelligent, synchronous/asynchronous serial data gateway. DCG can provide serial-to-serial, serial-to-LAN, LAN-to-serial, as well as various data conversion and recording capabilities. All models come with Ethernet connections, enabling modular expansion of communication between DCGs, creating an infrastructure capable of supporting a virtually endless number of serial ports. Intelligent Communications Adapter: The ICA is a fully-integrated communications co-processor designed to support 8 synchronous serial ports while only occupying a single Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus slot. It exceeds bandwidth requirements for data communications applications without impacting system resources, is individually configurable, and can be enhanced with customized API development and custom-made drivers. PCI-to-Channel Adapter (PCCA): A single-board, intelligent adapter designed to connect PCI bus IBM RS/6000 or Sun Microsystems SPARC platform to IBM System/370 Block or Byte Multiplexer Channel. The PCCA supports up to 256 sub-channels in excess of 100 kilobytes per second in burst mode. AIX, Solaris and Windows NT/2000 drivers are available for emulation of front-end processors or cluster controllers.

The PCCA can be programmed to emulate different types of control unit architectures as seen from the System/370 host. Firmware for the on-board processor is stored in non-volatile, programmable memory. Its contents can be overwritten with data coming over the PCI bus, 370 channel, or via RS-232 serial port. Recorder Platforms: The 2U, 3U and 4U Data Communications Gateway and Recorder platforms feature an all-steel chassis with durable black powder finish for use in industrial environments.
