Sunhillo's core business for over 30 years is Surveillance Data Distribution & Conversion of mission-critical data.
Running on Sunhillo’s SureLine® software with a common GUI and advanced radar plug-ins, Sunhillo has developed multiple Surveillance data platforms to meet our customers needs whether they require a Serial to IP Conversion, a custom filter, or an IP only solution with a specific ASTERIX protocol. Sunhillo is the trusted provider of Surveillance data solutions around the globe.
Sunhillo’s Surveillance Data Solutions include:
- Surveillance Radar Data Acquisition
- Sunhillo is agnostic to radar types and has several variations of data acquisition connections including the legacy Serial connection and the current IP connections. Legacy Serial or modern IP radars can be directly connected to Sunhillo products for surveillance data acquisition, distribution and conversiond. The Longport or RICI are ideal for Serial connections and the Brigantine SGP for IP only solutions.
- Protocol Conversion and Filtering
- Sunhillo’s SureLine software powers our surveillance products and it has a vast library of protocol conversions based on 30+ years of working with customers using disparate data sources. SureLine also has the ability to perform filtering of the data.
- Surveillance Data Distribution
- Sunhillo’s surveillance products have the capability to distribute the surveillance data Serially or via TCP/IP & UDP/IP.
- Surveillance Data Display
- The Sunhillo Surveillance Monitoring System (SMS) is a US Military deployed surveillance display for situational awareness. The SMS displays disparate surveillance sources including Radar, ADS‑B, and UAS for a ubiquitous surveillance picture.
- Surveillance Data Distribution System (SDDS-IP)
- Surveillance Data Distribution System for IP-centric topologies (SDDS-IP) is a fully integrated IP system that combines multiple dissimilar radar sources for surveillance distribution. Featuring an easy to use GUI, extensive support for ASTERIX including conversions and validation, Filtering, and Surveillance Data Fusion the SDDS is a groundbreaking solution designed to level the playing field make the safe interoperability of surveillance data a reality.

Surveillance System CONOPS Detail
Sunhillo’s Surveillance data solution utilizes multiple Sunhillo products for surveillance data acquisition, conversion, distribution, and monitoring.
Surveillance Data: SureLine Software is the core of all Sunhillo surveillance products including the Brigantine Surveillance Gateway Processor (SGP) which was designed to address the increasing requirements of new IP based systems for LAN to LAN surveillance sensor data formatting, content filtering, and protocol conversions. For optional Legacy Serial connected radars, Sunhillo’s RICI or Longport is used.
ADS-B Data: Sunhillo’s Margate II or Longport ADS-B Receivers directly connect to an antenna to decode all aircraft squawking out 1090 ADS-B or 978 UAT. This data is output via ASTERIX CAT 21/33.
Multi-Track Fusion: The Brigantine SGP’s SureLine Software processes multiple tracks from radar and ADS-B and utilizes the Multi-Track Fusion software which selects the best one for display minimizing screen clutter on the surveillance display
Surveillance Monitoring System: The SMS is a powerful total package solution designed for displaying disparate surveillance sources. With a fully customizable display and Geofencing, the SMS provides situational awareness to fit your requirements. Selecting any target will bring up the Target Information panel which displays important details such as the target ID, altitude, speed, and heading.
Record & Replay: SureLine supports recording in the following formats, raw (binary), and packet capture (PCAP). Recorded data can be replayed either through Wireshark or our raw file input node to reproduce any issues.

Sunhillo’s Surveillance Data Distribution system (SDDS-IP) solution utilizes multiple Sunhillo products to integrate multiple dissimilar radar sources for surveillance distribution and monitoring.
Surveillance Data: The Brigantine Surveillance Gateway Processor (SGP), running our standard SureLine Software, is used as the core of the SDDS-IP System. Standard off the shelf switches provide a front end for the Input/Output LANs to connect to multiple IP Radars. For optional Legacy Serial connected radars, Sunhillo’s RICI or Longport is used.
ASTERIX Toolkit: ASTERIX message processing and validation within SureLine is performed using our ASTERIX Toolkit library, which is part of the SureLine application software. This library is used across our products to decode, modify and validate ASTERIX data.
Multi-Track Fusion: The Brigantine SGP’s SureLine Software processes multiple tracks from radar and ADS-B and utilizes the Multi-Track Fusion software which selects the best one for display minimizing screen clutter on the surveillance display
Surveillance Monitoring: SDDS is monitored via the SureLine Status Display which offers a top view of the data passing through the device using the live dataflow on the web GUI. Additionally data can be displayed on the SureLine Radar Display which shows real-time Plot data and Real-Time Data Display which views the message data.
Record & Replay: SureLine supports recording in the following formats, raw (binary), and packet capture (PCAP). Recorded data can be replayed either through Wireshark or our raw file input node to reproduce any issues.
Redundancy: When running redundantly, each network switch is connected to its redundant server with a monitor port allowing all traffic into and out of the server to be viewed by the redundant system. The two gateways are interconnected on a separate redundant LANs to create a heartbeat network between the redundant servers. This redundant configuration ensures no single point of failure
