Sunhillo Corporation requires the release of certain personal data in order to conduct business. In its commitment to preserving your privacy, Sunhillo has implemented certain precautions to ensure that all data you offer to Sunhillo is respected, limited, and under your control.
Information Processed & Intended Use
Sunhillo does not request information that is not pertinent to performing services you request. The personal data required is for transactions, customer support, and/or use of the support portal. This data may also be used to contact you, when necessary, to report any changes to products and/or services that may affect you. Collected information will never be released to other companies except where they are processing that data on our behalf. In instances where we provide your data to a third party, we will notify you so that you can read their privacy policy.
Sunhillo may collect data from three sources.
1. Website
Sunhillo does not automatically collect any personal data that would enable us or any other party to identify an individual. All the data we collect automatically on our website is non-personal/anonymized, statistical data that we use to improve our website. Upon first accessing the website, users have the option to opt out of collection of any information, except that required for the website to function.
2. Support Portal
When users register on our support portal, the following information is collected.
- Name
- Title
- Email Address
- Company Name
This information allows users of the portal to:
- Register products they own
- For registered products, that are covered by a warranty or extended maintenance contract, access software updates
- Access product documentation
- Register for product update notifications
- Upload information for investigation by our support team
3. Customer Enquiries, Quotes and Orders
When a customer contacts Sunhillo, requests a quotation, or places an order, Sunhillo may collect some, or all, of the following information:
- Name
- Title
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Company Name
- Company Address
- Company Shipping Account
This information is used to respond to an enquiry, prepare a quotation or process an order.
For order payment by credit card, all credit card information is entered by the customer, or by a Sunhillo representative, directly into our bank’s credit card payment system. No credit card information is collected and retained by Sunhillo.
Customer’s Control
Personal data provided to Sunhillo Corporation is accessible to you at any time by request and can be changed or removed by contacting support@sunhillo.com. This data belongs to you, and will never be used without your knowledge of the end-use or end-user. You have the choice to withhold, change or remove personal information at any time, understanding that omitted information increases the risk of missing out on services, such as: online support, easy data retrieval, and historical reference.
Your information will be entered into our internal ERP system and Support Portal to better serve you. Though accessible by necessary stakeholders within Sunhillo Corporation, this information will not be transferred to a third party without your knowledge. In such instances as personal data being requested for purposes of national security, defense, public security, prevention of criminal activity, and investment in general public interest, Sunhillo Corporation is legally bound to provide information, after informing you.
Security & Lifetime of Personal Data
Sunhillo Corporation protects their network by using a secure server, forcing password changes every ninety days, and scanning each computer routinely for virus or malware software; however, if there is a security breach, we will notify you no later than 72 hours after the incident. In these circumstances, Sunhillo is not liable for a breach that circumvented the precautions established by Sunhillo and agreed upon by our customers.
Retention of personal information gathered depends upon the reason for collection.
1. Website
Data is retained for 120 days.
2. Support Portal
Customer accounts are only deleted by, or at the request of, the customer. Data uploaded to the support portal by a customer will be deleted after one year, if not deleted by the customer.
3. Customer Enquiries, Quotes and Orders
Any information entered into our ERP system to process enquiries, generate quotations, or process orders is retained according to applicable regulations.
Consent
By accessing our website and/or providing us with your personal and non-personal data, you automatically verify that you have read our Privacy Policy and agree to our collection, storage and use of your information, and confirm you are at least 18 years old.
Changes to Policy
Sunhillo reserves the right to make changes to their Privacy Policy at any time. Once posted, the changes will become effective immediately and it is your responsibility to periodically check the website for any updates. If you disagree with the updates, you may discontinue use of the website.
